Daedong Launches New DSF85 Soybean Combine Harvester to Minimize Breakage and Harvest Losses

-. Cutting and conveying systems reduce soybean loss and foreign material intake while ensuring smooth crop flow.

-. Gentler threshing reduces soybean breakage, while adjustable cleaning settings allow fine-tuning to suit crop conditions.

-. Blockages can be cleared directly from the operator’s seat, while the machine stays level even on slopes.

Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-Sik and Won Yu-Hyun), a leader in future agriculture, announced on August 27, 2026, that it has launched the new DSF85 full-feed combine harvester, designed specifically for soybean harvesting.

The new DSF85 focuses on enhancing core functions across the entire soybean harvesting process, from cutting and conveying to threshing and cleaning. It reduces soybean loss during conveying and lessens the impact on soybeans during threshing, while removing soil, stalks, leaves and other foreign material in stages.

A key strength of the DSF85 is delivering cut soybean plants to the threshing unit with minimal loss. Blade position adjustment helps soybean stalks move naturally into the machine. The reel that gathers the crop offers five speed settings to suit soybean crop conditions, supporting smooth feeding.

Soil and crop residue taken in with the crop are removed as thoroughly as possible before threshing. Soil separation screens in the cutting unit and conveying section allow soil and crop residue to fall through, while anti-scuffing ridges in the conveying channel reduce soybean loss during transport. The design retains the soybeans while removing unwanted material before it can interfere with threshing.

The threshing unit is designed for gentler crop handling to reduce impacts on the soybeans. A lower threshing drum speed reduces breakage that can occur as soybeans are separated from stalks and pods. The design considers not only the amount harvested, but also how much of the soybean crop remains intact.

The separated soybeans undergo another round of precision cleaning. The newly added ‘Smart Selector’ removes relatively large foreign material, such as stalks and leaves. The chaffer, which separates grain from foreign material, has five gap settings to adjust the degree of cleaning to crop conditions. An auxiliary chaffer provides additional cleaning, improving overall cleaning performance.

The model also provides greater stability and continuity during operation. If soybean stalks or other crop material clog the cutting or conveying units during harvesting, the operator can quickly clear them using the reversing function from the operator’s seat, reducing delays caused by blockages. Front-to-rear and side-to-side leveling control keeps the machine level for stable harvesting even in sloping fields. A large-capacity, 1,570-liter grain tank also reduces the number of stops needed to unload grain.

As cultivation of soybeans and other field crops expands alongside government policies to promote strategic crops, harvesting machinery increasingly needs performance tailored to crop characteristics and field conditions. Daedong incorporated these changes and the requirements of soybean harvesting into the development of the new DSF85. The company plans to continue refining its products based on needs identified in farming operations.
