Daedong Metals Expands Semiconductor, Power Generation and Marine Components Business, Forecasts 37% Growth in High-Value Component Revenue
-. Revenue from semiconductor and industrial engine components is projected to rise 37%, from KRW 29 billion in 2025 to KRW 39.7 billion in 2026.
-. H1 2026 revenue from these components grew 11.3% to KRW 16.5 billion, supported by the start of mass production of marine engine components and increased supplies to existing customers.
-. New orders secured in H1 2026 totaled KRW 27.9 billion, with semiconductor and generator components accounting for KRW 19.1 billion, or 68% of the total.
Daedong Metals is expanding its high-value cast components business as it accelerates efforts to diversify its operations and achieve its 2026 revenue target.
Daedong Metals (CEO Lee Pung-woo), a specialist in high-value precision casting, announced on July 27, 2026, that it expects revenue from semiconductor, generator engine and marine engine components to reach approximately KRW 39.7 billion in 2026. This would represent a 37.1% increase from approximately KRW 29 billion in related revenue in 2025 and account for approximately 35% of its total 2026 revenue target of KRW 115 billion.
The outlook is based on H1 2026 results, increased supplies to existing customers and the transition to mass production of products ordered in 2025. Revenue from semiconductor, generator engine and marine engine components rose 11.3% year on year to KRW 16.5 billion in H1 2026. Supply volumes of vacuum pump and engine components to existing customers increased, while the cylinder heads for medium-speed marine engines that the company won orders for in 2025 entered mass production in January 2026. These developments are translating business expansion into actual revenue growth.
The company’s order book is also expanding, providing a foundation for future growth. In H1 2026, Daedong Metals secured new orders worth a total of KRW 27.9 billion based on projected revenue over the next five years. Generator engine components accounted for KRW 15.7 billion and vacuum pump components for semiconductor applications for KRW 3.4 billion. Together, the two segments represented KRW 19.1 billion, or 68% of total new orders. This was more than double the value of new orders secured in the same segments in 2025.
Products covered by new orders secured in 2026 include generator engine cylinder heads, as well as stators and cast housings for vacuum pumps used in semiconductor manufacturing processes. Production is scheduled to begin in stages from the end of 2026 through 2028, in line with customers’ mass-production schedules. Daedong Metals has set a total new order target of KRW 105 billion for 2026, more than double the KRW 48.4 billion recorded in 2025. It aims to increase the share of high-value cast components for semiconductor, power generation and marine applications to approximately 60% of that total.
Growth in key customer industries, including semiconductors, power generation and shipping, is also supporting business expansion. Increased investment in AI semiconductors and advanced manufacturing processes is driving demand for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, while growing demand for reliable power supplies to AI data centers and industrial facilities is expanding the generator market. Rising global cargo volumes and the replacement of vessels with environmentally friendly, high-efficiency models are also driving growth in the marine engine market.

Daedong Metals plans to translate growth in these customer industries into more orders and higher revenue. In the semiconductor segment, it will expand its product offerings and develop new products, focusing on global vacuum pump customers. In the generator segment, it will ensure reliable mass production of components covered by KRW 15.7 billion in new orders while seeking additional customers and product opportunities. In the marine segment, it plans to expand its customer base and the range of components it supplies, building on its mass-production experience with medium-speed engine cylinder heads, which entered production in 2026.
The company is also strengthening its production capabilities to serve the high-value components market. Engine components for generators and ships must withstand high temperatures, high pressure and prolonged vibration, while vacuum pump components for semiconductor applications require high precision and consistent quality in high-vacuum environments. Drawing on casting technology and data accumulated over 79 years, Daedong Metals plans to apply AX to manufacturing to enhance its capabilities in materials, precision casting and quality, while continuing to expand orders and mass production of technically demanding components.
